ESOL Strategies
I was so excited this week when one of my colleagues asked me for some examples of ESOL strategies, I decided to make a dashboard in order to make these amazing strategies easier accessible for our staff. I am hoping that this might encourage them to use these strategies to improve literacy in their classrooms.

Kia Ora Alida Awesome presentation. The details are easy to read and access any time for support programmes in class that encourage verbal participation. Thank you for running with it from a colleagues inquiry to support others
ReplyDeleteHey Alida,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for adding these. They are really helping me develop the oral language skills of the students in my class -especially those students that just can't verbalise their ideas and so are too scared to share. The vocabulary is already helping most of my students fill in gaps with content as well.
Another way I have been getting my students to share is via the Which one doesn't belong. Because it evens out the power in the conversation- everyone is becoming far more vocal in all aspects of learning in my classroom. Check it out.
